HM Group Health and Safety

HM Group places the highest importance on the duty of care it owes to it’s employees and supply chain during the course of it’s day to day business operations and to those who might be affected by it’s works.

Our annual target is to achieve zero accidents. We proactively monitor our health and safety performance through an external safety advisor and our own in-house inspection process. We collect and review the results of these inspections, establishing trends and striving for continuous improvement. We also encourage reporting of ‘Near Miss’ events in order that we can proactively diminish the likelihood of future incidents.

We recognise the importance of contributions on our health and safety performance from our employees and subcontractors. This is achieved through various mediums including our Health and Safety Committee, Toolbox Talks, Inductions and Job Chats. Our Health and Safety Committee has been established for over four years, meeting quarterly and is responsible for setting policy and procedures across the business.

During the evolution of the Group we have become accredited within a number of industry recognised bodes, including CHAS, Safe Contractor and Constructionline. In addition, Hardyman Group is recognised as an Investor In People and as such we invest broadly in our employees to ensure they are competent to carry out their daily activities. Our overall objective is to instil and maintain an excellent health and safety culture within our organisation.
